The Lord is always revealing to us the secret to living a transformed life.
He delights in you more than you can imagine.
He approves of you continuously because when He sees you, His Light is continually shining upon you.
Be Sensitive to Sin
A healthy spirit is sensitive to sin.
Have you ever heard someone speak or left church and felt condemned? Some pastors try to whip people into action with guilt-inducing sermons. This procedure can drive many to work harder, but the end does not justify the means.
Guilt-evoking messages can undermine the very foundation of grace in a believers heart. I feel like God grieves when He sees grace eroding and weeds of anxious works creep in.
Moving Through Your Emotions
A sensitive conscience works much the same way our nervous system does for our body. Pain tells us when we are doing something (such as sticking a hand in fire) that will damage the tissues. We learn not to repeat the conduct that makes us hurt.
Feeling bad when we have done bad things is good for us. It does not follow that we should sink into unrelenting depression or that we should ever give up.
Use Romans 8:1 as a “word weapon”.
“Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.”
- I do not walk after the flesh but after the Spirit. Walking after flesh is depending on myself; walking after the spirit is depending on God.
- When I fail, I am not a failure.
- I have strengths & weaknesses. I will let Christ be strong in my weaknesses.
- I will allow Christ to be my strength on weak days.
If you are waiting for a victory in an area and you have not seen it, rather than feeling condemned about it, be patient.
Do not receive condemnation; walk in the Spirit.
