Pregnancy is a unique, exciting and joyous time in a woman’s life. It has been a different experience for me each time, but I have always loved be pregnant. With my first pregnancy I did not use essential oils very much. I wished I had. I used them with my daughter regularly through pregnancy, during birth and postpartum.
Throughout all of the the growing pains, morning sickness in the first trimester and all of the changes the body must go through until birth, essential oils can assist with some of these uncomfortable changes. And they are natural, safe and effective!
Labor and postpartum periods as well as breastfeeding can all be supplemented with different essential oils. The oils may be applied topically, diffused, or ingested for breast soreness, constipation, depression, fatigue, high blood pressure, nausea/vomiting, sleep, stretch marks, swelling and more.
If you are new to oils, I am breaking them down into each stage – pregnancy, labor and postpartum. Then I will be sharing some of my favorite remedies I have used over the years and during pregnancy.
